Abstract Using the structure of the pinwheel tiling we give an ad-hoc construction of a fractal finite family of tiles which tile the plane in a non-periodic way and appear rotated in an infinite number of ways, as the pinwheel does. Our tiles are generated by a graph-directed iterated function system. It will be clear from the context that many other constructions of such tilings are possible.
