Abstract In this work, we present an approach for a certain type of reaction diffusion equations (those coming out of problems of reversible chemistry) based on the relationship between entropy and entropy dissipation. We first discuss the existence, uniqueness and smoothness of solutions for the equations under study. Then, we get an explicit bound of exponential decay describing the large time behavior of those solutions.
