A Steffensen's type method with modified functions

Abstract A generalization of the Steffensen's method with modified functions is studied. Our goal is to obtain similar properties as Newton's method, but without evaluating any derivative. A quasi-Halley's method with only function evaluations is also presented. Convergence analysis and numerical results are analyzed.
